I have to say, I have really only been to Wanda's for lunch once, but it was only so-so. Their soup is good, but the sandwiches need some work (or at least some effort/love). They are just barely sandwiches by definition, and the avocado in their 'avocado sandwich' is an endangered species. Also, the bread sort of hurts your mouth. Too expensive for how mediocre they are.
That said, I have had their pie on numerous occasions (though not while I'm actually at Wanda's), and it's pretty good. Some of the best pie that wasn't made my your mom, indeed. I've had better pies in my life, but not store bought. I'll keep eating the pie, but skip the sandwich.
