Ugh. If you want the most frustrating experience from a printing company website try ordering a foam core sign from hotcards.com. Their website is annoying, making you repeat all the steps for each product you order. I ordered 3 different foam core signs and was already feeling uneasy about their website. I can only imagine the pain of someone who needed to order 10 or more. When you get to the part where you upload your artwork, you are treated to two lines that basically say the same thing. The red line is where your artwork is getting cut off, no big deal as my artwork was the exact size of the sign. The green line, however, is inside the red line, and says that all text and images should be inside of it. Wut? A warning text on the side also recommended that the image be 2 inches larger on each side. I am giving you an image that is the exact size of what I'm ordering, why can't you just print that? I called them and they said it would "probably be fine". They said we could also add a 2 inch buffer on each side or they could do it for $5. Why can't your website just do this if this is one of your requirements? After this I hesitated and put off the ordering of the signs for a while. For what it's worth, they are very inexpensive and they are a local company, two things that were important for the purchase. So I called again and they offered to add the buffer themselves, I could have done it myself but I do feel like it's not my responsibility to hand feed a company in the business of designing and printing, I am not a graphic designer nor do I work for a printing company hence why I am paying other people to do it. When I received the new files with a 2" buffer on each side, I uploaded them to the website. When I got to the part where I had to approve the proof I saw a grayed out area, the one that I thought was getting cut off by the red 'cut line'. So, in summary, very painful to deal with. Make your website more user-friendly, to me it feels like its intentionally useless so that you have to pay their designers for the work. If the products come back looking well, I will add a star. But I have the feeling I'm going to be getting back products that have gray lines around the perimeter.
