Like many reviewers, I was a patient of Dr. Pardee for many years and wondered what the new dermatology office would be like. The jury is still out in my opinion. I agree that the office staff needs customer service training. BIG TIME. They are brusque and unfriendly. Unlike the reviewer Susan T., my visit with Dr. Chen-Tsai was a whirlwind. Within 10 minutes, she came bustling in, showed me a paper with information how melanoma occurs (I have had several), told me I should get genetically screened, too quickly (in my opinion) reviewed my skin while reporting her findings to her staff member, but not me. She did tell me she was a hawk when it came to finding melanoma. There is some kind of competition in the dermatology world. I asked her about another issue on my nails, I felt she brushed me off without truly investigating it. She found a mole that she wanted to remove and without telling me, she stuck me with lidacaine and cut it out and slapped a bandaid on it. No warning. No post care instructions. Just, "someone will call you with the results". I will go back in 6 months and form my opinion going forward. She may be good at finding melanomas, but I may have to find another dermatologist to see about anything else. I was disappointed.
