Best airport in Canada (that I've been to so far).
After countless flights into and out of Toronto, it was refreshing to finally fly into Montréal and realize that not all airports have to be drab and boring. YUL has nice decorations, bright and spacious concourses, and lots of great-looking restaurants. I walked from one end to another multiple times just to enjoy the various shops and spaces (I know, I'm weird like that). There's a huge duty-free store, a spacious cul-de-sac with a playground for kids, a little art exhibit, multiple trendy food courts, and more. The Canada and international concourses are connected, so you have free range of most of the airport (the US concourse is separate, and I didn't visit it, so I can't comment).
When I came back for my departure flight, getting through check-in and security was easy and painless. Overall, the experience was smooth and enjoyable. For both a first impression and a final goodbye to Montréal, YUL does a good job.
