I'm a young adult who has been trying to build credit. I recently bought my first home and have zero credit card debt. I called to close out my secured credit card and they tried everything possible to keep me as a card holder. I explained to them why I was closing it out and they seemed to only care about loosing a customer. Every month I paid the full amount on the card and never had a late payment. I'm very disappointed with their customer service as they told me I will not get my deposit back for another two and a half months. This is my own money I put forth to open the account as a secured card holder. It seems a little outrageous to have to wait so long to get a deposit back, considering I have kept a zero balance with zero late payments. Capital one is definitely the way to go as I have been with them almost three years and they have been nothing but great.
