Some good friends brought us to Rolled Ice last week. Because the process is so labor intensive there was a line all the way to the door on a Sunday afternoon. Plan ahead and come early if you visit during peak hours. It took us about 15 minutes to get to the front of the line but, oh man... the wait is worth it. Making the ice cream fresh this way from liquid ice cream base and toppings mixed on a frozen plate creates a really cool consistency and really beautiful cup of ice cream. If you haven't had it, it's a Must Try because it's so different than any ice cream you've had before. I got the cookies and cream as well as the rocky road. Both were very good, but cookies and cream had a slightly better flavor as the nut pieces in the rocky road get pulverized in the process which make them slightly less enjoyable for my tastes. I only wish there were more tables to sit and visit while enjoying the frozen treat. Overall, great stuff and I'll be back with others!
