I pay approximately 600 per month for my medical insurance. My Dr. has been blacklisted by this insurance company for ordering to many tests and excessive blood work. My Dr has decided not to take any medical insurance and is doing very well. I, on the other hand have to maintain medical insurance so I get the best of both worlds, pay 600 a month for insurance and pay cash for my Dr. For Medical reasons, I take Tirosint for thyroid and today I received a letter stating that there are other medications on the Formulary such as Levothroxine and my Tirosint will no longer be covered. Since the company is not going to cover my medication, the next paragraph covers their ass by stating that "you and your provider make decision about your treatment, including decision about prescription medications." So if your insurance does not cover your medication, the insurance company does not take any responsibility in influencing the medication choice. Levothroxine has trace glutens and Tirosint does not, however, Laurine Tibaldi, MD FHM, whom I have never seen decided that this is not relevant and would not know that I am gluten intolerant. Since the Tirosint I am doing much better. I called my insurance company, spoke with a representative on the phone that was thrilled another upset patient was called, said to have my Dr complete a medical necessary form and it will be reviewed. Another person will sit behind a desk that I have never met or seen and will decide what medications they feel I need to be taking. The best part is, they only covered $28.00 per month of the $127.00 prescription fee. Tirosint provided a coupon for $35, more than the coverage for my insurance. I wonder what the CEO of Sierra Health and LIfe makes per year? I know the staff with this company needs save their $28.00 per month contribution in exchange for my $600 monthly payment to them, Merry Christmas to the staff!!! DO NOT INSURE WITH THIS COMPANY THEY WILL MAKE ALL YOUR MEDICAL DECISIONS FOR YOU BASED ON PROFIT!!!!!!!
