I was wavering between 2 or 3 stars. I have been to Luxe salon a couple times and I really liked the stylist I saw so this rating is not for her work...she'd get 4 or 5 stars. The fact that I loved the stylist and still have not returned says a lot about my horrible last experience. On past visits I was shampooed etc by a very sweet salon assistant, had no problems with that. My last visit....the salon assistant was some different girl who was HORRIBLE!!!!!!! She knotted my hair, like it's never been knotted before during the shampoo. Literally, my 2 year old son could have washed my hair and created less knots. Then....the head massage....I was on the verge of tears!! You know how we all have soft spots as babies on our head....she had her two thumbs pushing into that area of my head so hard I thought she was going to crack my skull. (no exaggeration) After that, she had to yank at my hair with the comb for 10+ mins trying to get the knots out that she created which gave me a SPLITTING head ache and I was again on the verge of tears. I am way too nice and I can't believe I sat there and endured that to spare hurting her feelings. She also administered my toner. I had used the toner previous visits and loved the color(a platinum blonde). Not this time....I don't know what she did wrong.....but my hair was yellow blonde. Like, lemon yellow. And after the torture I had to pay $180. I've never been back and now I drive to Scottsdale to get my hair done....(where it is actually cheaper, go figure) I must say, Luxe salon is overpriced! I moved from CA and have had my hair done by a fabulous Beverly Hills stylist and it was cheaper than Luxe! I'm not sure if I'll ever go back, but if I do, I'd find another stylist who does her own shampooing etc. For $180 I don't want to be left to a salon assistant to the tortured and have my hair color ruined. Also...someone else had mentioned about the cleanliness. I actually noticed this as well. From afar it looks clean....but while sitting and getting my hair done, I saw there was dust built up all over the stations and drawers. This wouldn't keep me from coming back, I only mention it because I was a little surprised. The salon is beautiful, I would think the owner would ask the stylists to dust their stations with the high end appearance they're going for.
