What a delightful little find this place is!
A friend from NYC challenged me to find a wine bar where we could chat and catch up late on a Friday night. Tall order, but AWM fit the bill - there were maybe six other people there at any given moment in the few hours we were there.
Every wine on their list is offered by the bottle OR the glass, and they have a nice variety of flights or "comparisons" as well. The bartender was knowledgeable, friendly, generous and helpful - all the qualities you might desire in a bartender!
We didn't try any of the cheeses or meats but we munched on delicious salty marcona almonds and savory corn snacks. Yum.
The space is small, warm and well decorated. I like how owner Jamie P. says on Yelp she "decided to create the bar she'd want to hang out in." I want to hang out in there too! While I love the chill, low-key almost-empty-but-not-in-a-creepy-way vibe of the place, there really should be more people there. So go, already!
