Been thru CLT several times, so I guess my experiences should reflect the norm. Somehow I find this airport a lot less stressful to navigate thru when catching connecting flights, maybe because the airport is organized with a bit of famous Southern hospitality in mind perhaps? Lots of white rocking chairs sprinkled through out the terminals, so you can rest your feet and watch the flow of humanity ambling hurriedly across, light color tones is the paint scheme - which maybe psychologically is helpful in easing any perceived anxiety. Tons of shopping and food choices, so one can divert your attention to different things. I joke that this reminds me of the airport in Dubai - so I could call this an expensive shopping strip mall with an airport attached! :-) The restrooms are staffed - which is why I detect the hospitality theme was first and foremost in the airport operator/planners mind. Others have posted similar good reviews/thoughts, but YMMV (your mileage may vary) -- pun intended!
