Esthetician Sandra!
I just had to update my review of Therapy to include my experience with their new esthttician, Sandra. Being a regular client of Therapy I know they searched long and hard for the right esthetician to fit into the Therapy family and they hit a home run with Sandra!
Let me preface my review with saying that my best friend is an esthetician at a spa that's just a little far for me to make it everytime I need an eyebrow wax. My hair grows very fast so I need to have my eyebrows done once every two weeks at the most before I start to look like Teen Wolf. Outside of my best friend doing my brows, I'd pretty much settled on the idea of rolling the dice everytime I needed a wax. Sometimes they look good, sometimes one is thinner than the other, sometimes there's a random bald spot- you get the idea- but they've never looked GREAT. I gave Sandra a try one of the times was in to get my hair done and I'm so glad I did!
First, the Therapy spa area is like walking into another world from the hustle and bustle of the day. The spa is downstairs from the salon. The lights are low, relaxing music is playing softly in the background. There's a small but ample lounge area to wait in while you wait for your service. Sandra's room is wonderful- very clean, relaxing colors, great lighting above the world's most comfy reclinging waxing chair to ensure a great service.
I felt so welcome when I met Sandra. She's wonderful- very friendly and sweet. She introduced me to threading- which I'd never tried before. My skin is sensitive so threading is a great option for me as my skin is prone to allergic reactions and heat sensitivity. As I've stated above, my expectations are very low with my brows but I know the folks at Therapy well enough to know that Sandra would be great at what she does. The first time she did my brows she spent much longer than the usual wax on/tear off/out the door you go!- treatment that I was used to. When she got done with the first brow she brought the mirror to me to show me and WOW!! I have an arch! An actual eyebrow arch! I've always been jealous of people with an eyebrow arch instead of my usual Nike Swoosh but always assumed that my eyebrows were obviously just too messed up to ever have one- but I did! She did the other brow and then kindly spent some time with me showed me the best way to line my brows naturally for when I (rarely) wear makeup and showed me the areas that I needed to grow in in order to have evenly arched brows.
You're probably thinking that this type of service is going to run you the "uptown designer brow salon" cost of $20+ right? Nope- she's priced at the same point as the wax/rip/thank you ma'am place that I'm used to!
Even my best friend noticed what a great job she did! (Quite an endorsement!) I highly reccommend Sandra for your brow needs! I haven't tried any other services with her but I'm excited to!
