One of the main reasons we stayed at the mgm Grand was due to the fact I've been here before and the pools and pool scene has always been excellent. We were actually going to stay at the Monte Carlo but we heard they had done construction on the pool and we weren't certain how or when there pool would be open or work out. Well well well as to our amazement and too add on to our horrible stay at the MGMGrand there lazy river pool was under construction without us knowing. Once again MGM grands bait and switch routine at work. Rather than be honest with there guest they would rather hide facts. Should be ashamed and embarrassed. So having the lazy river under construction caused all those people and people with kids to take up seats that weren't going to be actually used at adjacent pools so finding seating was nearly impossible, plus the MGM didn't have any staff walking around clearing unused seats with dirty towels on them so new guests could sit down. Didn't see a one. But what I did see and hear was life guards blowing the dumb whistles every five seconds at guests cause they were too lazy to get down from there chair and tell all the unmannered children to either stop horseing around or stop touching the swim lane buoys or stop stacking float tubes( and why would they even allow tubes in the pools anyways cause they never had but I guess even though the lazy river was down they still wanted to make money and Bait n Switch there guests again) or the kids running on the concrete or jumping in the pool...the pool scene was a complete joke. Trying to relax with my wife and it was like I was at the old Wet-n-Wild. At the end of the day the MGM Grand was a complete disappointment on every level and everybody involved should be ashamed and disappointed. It's a sad day when we book a stay and mgm will be grouped with options like Harrahs, Rio, Excalibur, Tropicana, SLS, and the Imperial Palace if it was still there (now the Linq.
