I needed a place for my fur baby to stay for two nights. This would be my first time leaving him at any boarding facility in Nevada. I called and was given a tour of the facility. Everything seemed great but there was a strong smell of urine that permeated in the facility. It was really bad.
Kim checked me in. She was very nice and thorough. I asked about receiving pictures and updates about my dog. She assured me that I could text the number on the card and I would get updates. The smell of urine was still strong. I set up my dogs things in his room. Then I monitored him in the side gate before he went in to play with the other small dogs. There were a lot of dogs in the small area. My dog seemed overwhelmed and frightened but I understood it was a new environment for him.
Later that day I sent a text to the number on the card to get an update on how my dog was doing. I waited for an hour before receiving 2 pictures. No update on how he was doing, nothing just two pictures of him standing in his room. Later that evening I wanted to know how my dog was doing. I didn't get a response back for awhile. Then I received a short text back. No picture, nothing. That bothered me.
If you say you're going to send updates, pictures and a report of how a dog is doing it should be taken more seriously. Especially if people are entrusting you with their fur babies overnight and there are no web cams to monitor them ourselves.
I was very disappointed and felt uneasy so I called LV Resort to let them know my dog was going to be picked up a day early from boarding. The person on the phone said she couldn't find my dog in the system. I said, well he's there. She said it's ok we'll have him ready. I contacted my emergency contact for my dog. He was picked up a day early. I lost the overnight boarding I already paid but I felt more at ease knowing that he wasn't spending the night at Las Vegas Dog Resort.
