I purchased the Protection Plan for a package plan (flight + hotel). I had to cancel the trip due to a death in the family. You are refunded hotel cost and given credit for flight. Upon utilizing the credit, you are charged $150 per ticket fee. Part of the Protection Plan is that Expedia will reimburse you the $150 fee(s). However, this was not automatic. To date I have not been reimbursed (4 months later). I have been on over 10 phone calls totalling 8 hours (they put you on hold for extended periods of time) and most times these calls end with the service being disconnected (not by me). I have had to fax receipts over 3 different times, i've been hung up on by service reps that don't want to deal with the headache, they've discarded my case number, I cannot speak with the same service rep when i request them by name... I WILL NEVER BOOK WITH EXPEDIA AGAIN, AND DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THE PROTECTION PLAN!!!
