This was our first time at a Drury Inn & Suites, but we loved the hotel and will definitely be back. The hotel is clean and well appointed. We checked in at around 4:00, and were told that there's a free dinner buffet each evening from 5:30, and we were given vouchers for three free alcoholic drinks. That was a pleasant surprise - we thought we'd need to drive out and search the area for something to eat after a long trip into Phoenix. Our kids immediately hit the indoor/outdoor pool, which I originally thought to mean two different pools, one inside the hotel and one outside, but we soon found that it was one pool, half inside and half outside, with a clear plastic "curtain" in between that people can easily get though. We loved the unique design, and my wife and I relaxed outside with a margarita and wine (complements of the bar), while the kids got their pent up energy out swimming. At about 6:30, we got out of the pool and went to the dining area. Dinner service was ending at 7:00, but we found a table and enjoyed what the hotel had on offer. Tonight it was two kinds of soup (potato and bacon or grilled corn soup - both were delicious), a salad with fresh greens (carrots, chopped egg, diced ham, cherry tomatoes, etc), grilled chicken, penne pasta, baked potatoes, hot dogs and nachos. The bartender was kind enough to unlock the milk server, which we later were told is usually locked up after breakfast. There's free wi-fi, free parking, a friendly staff, and clean rooms. Today, there seemed to be a large Harley-Davidson bikers group staying at the hotel, which was an interesting juxtaposition to the dozen or so young kids that were also at the hotel. While the dining room was packed and very active, everyone seemed friendly and well mannered; the only problem was that there were more guests/diners than tables and chairs. After dinner, we went to a nearby movie theater (AMC) to watch a movie. The kids took bags of the complimentary popcorn the hotel has near the front desk - the popcorn is white, fresh and much lighter than the yellow oil-soaked stuff sold at movie theaters. Our stay cost $225 through Expedia, and it was a much better deal than we were expecting. We're already planning our next trip back to Phoenix, and will definitely book another room here.
