I was trying to find a brooch/lapel pin and was having a VERY hard time. My 90 year old father wanted to give a pin to my 89 year old mother for their 50th Wedding Anniversary-so it was important to me to help my father out as he no longer is able to shop on his own. I was unable to find anything that was appropriate in ANY jewelry store- I couldn't find many pins and most were too big and bold-nothing that really was a "good fit". I spoke with Gregory S. Oakes, the Assistant Manager, and asked him what he had in stock that may work for my father. Mr. Oakes 100% understood my dilemma. But there was NOTHING that he could sell me- nothing was appropriate. However this is where he exemplified OUTSTANDING SERVICE- he said he had a drawer full of pins from a family member who was no longer wearing them and he said to come back in a day because he was going to go through the pins and select the 2 nicest ones and GIVE THEM TO ME. Yes, give them to me. He said that since KAY Jewelers didn't have what I wanted, and he didn't want my father to be disappointed, he was happy to help me. This is truly service "above and beyond" what I expected. I have told MANY people about Mr. Oakes and his generous gesture and I will certainly support KAY Jewelers in the future. "What goes around, comes around" and a good deed deserves future business.
