Made a huge mistake coming here! I usually go to the Brick Street Bakery to get my morning Croissant and/or baked goods. But the line up there was too long so came to Forno Cultura across the hall instead where there was no line up...
Everything on display looks really good, but the taste is horrible! I got the chocolate croissant and I must say I was shocked at how bad it was. I might as well be eating cardboard. Actually no, cardboard would have been delicious compared to this. It was stale and bitter, nothing like the flaky buttery goodness that I get from Brick Street or Croissant Tree.
I have no problems paying a premium to indulge in some nice pastries once in a while, but where do they get off charging so much for something a stray starving raccoon wouldn't even touch.
Seriously, if you want pastries, stay away from this place... This place is worse than Michel's baguette in Commerce Court, which used to be really good until they jacked up the prices and starting selling stale goods. As I said, Brick Street in FCP is always great. Croissant tree has a fantastic almond croissant that is cheap and really good as long as you get a fresh one (I think they sometimes sell day old ones too, but usually it is fresh and it's reasonably priced). Boxcar Social on Temperance Street has a really nice pistachio croissant as well, although that one is slightly more pricey (but actually tastes good unlike the turd that I got from this place). All of these places are WAY BETTER than Forno and WAY CHEAPER! So disappointed at this place...
