So my roommates and I were looking for a 3 bedroom apartment. This makes it a little difficult for us considering that two of us have master king size bedroom sets. I looked at tons and tons of apartments in the phoenix area. Spectra didn't have measurements on their floor plans so I decided to go in, and take a tour. I was greeted by a girl named Evie completely unprofessional didn't really seem interested in her job at all. She was making texts as I was waiting for her to get the keys to show me around. The pools looked extremely nice, two fitness centers awesome, and I liked how clean the grounds were. Well I drove around on the north side and I loved all the green. The second time I came back with my roommates to show them, we drove around on the south side and it pretty much had no green and looked a lot dirtier. From the beginning they didn't have a three bedroom to show us, so we saw models of 2 bedrooms so we could get an idea of what the floors and cabinets would be like. They gave us the measurements for the 3 bedroom and I was quite surprised at how big they said the bedrooms were. However I found a little weird that the second bedroom was bigger than the master. Now we have had bad luck with not being able to see our apartment (like our last one), and then on move in day our furniture doesn't fit. The measurements that they provided at our last apartment were off by a lot. So we are definitely cautious, and want to see an apartment before we sign a lease. So we waited, and then one finally became available to look at. I was told it was a handicap so the hallways were a little wider, and counters were lower (no biggie). I loved how open the kitchen and living area was, it made it look so big. However I walked towards the bedrooms and noticed that the measurements were way off. I told Evie that the bedrooms are a lot smaller than what they provided on the floor plan. And the second bedroom which they stated was bigger than the master, was definitely not. And I said really its just measurements that I need. She just sat there and didn't really say anything. So I asked her if they could take measurements. She said she would put in a work order to have them taken. I highly doubt she put it in, because she didn't ask for my name or phone number. She told me it could take up to 2 weeks. She continued to tell me the rooms were smaller because it was a handicap unit. Last time I checked the buildings are all the same size. So yes the hallways may be a little wider, but the two outside walls are going to be the same size and will never change. And those walls that meet the doorways are not going to give me the 2 extra feet that you had added onto the measurements on your floor plan. She was extremely unprofessional . And she works off of commission, you would think she would put in the time and effort to help me so she can make a sale. I went back for the 3rd time to take measurements myself, because she never put in the maintenance request I'm assuming because here I am still sitting 3 months later and have never gotten a call about them. This time I spoke with a gentleman I believe his name was Brandon he was so helpful (it was his second week with the company- this was in April). He even helped me measure the walls. Which indeed the master was off by a foot each way. And the second bedroom was off by 2 feet one way and I think a foot the other way. Our furniture wouldn't fit. I asked the gentlemen if we ended up getting a two bedroom if he could get the commission if we signed a lease. Unfortunately its not the way it works and Evie would get it (because she was the first one to help me). You should definitely change that rule. Why should one girl that did nothing for me get the money vs a guy that did everything to help me. This guy deserves this job the other girl Evie doesn't deserve this job. All this hassle to go through and we hadn't even signed a lease yet. What she should have done is called maintenance right away to take measurements, or gotten a tape measure and we could have done it ourselves. Absolutely no customer service skills at all. Really makes me wonder how much of a nightmare it would have been living here. We are very happy with where we live now. So I guess thank you for being horrible at your job. We dodged a bullet!
