P&P = Gastropub that caters to the restaurant industry folks after hours with some lively patrons, some interesting bar bites and libations. The in between hours aren't so bad either. Plus an early and late version of HH. This is one of those blink and you would miss it and definitely not on the radar for most visitors unless a local pointed you in their direction. It definitely has a cozy, neighborhood feel once inside that belies the edge of the strip mall location. I happened upon the P & P after a charity golf tournament in the area. Some of the players in our group couldn't say enough good things about the P and P. We decided to meet up after getting cleaned up later in the evening. As the night meandered on the place began to fill with servers, bar keeps and chefs and all manner of industry folks made their way over. We had already managed to grab several of the somewhat limited seating at the bar to sample some of the tasty treats on special after 10. The pork shoulder tostados were my favorite, make no mistake there is a reason the word Pig is in their title. They have more than a few dishes with divine swine involved. We also tried the duck fat fries( only late night) and the Bulgogi lettuce wraps. I have to say yes again to the fries but no to the lettuce wraps. The beef was just too sinew laden, chewy and tough and way too salty. All in all the small group of us found the staff and barkeep super friendly, attentive and just made for a better dining and drinking experience. The place isn't so loud you or crowded that you can't have a conversation even as it fills up. I am sure it can get shoulder to shoulder during it's busiest hours but we didn't have that experience. A nice hidden but not so secret neighborhood gem.
