I brought my car in for an alignment and tire rotation yesterday around 12:45. Things started off great. I was greeted at the counter by Rob M., who was positive and friendly. They were busy, but Rob said he'd have the car done within 1 hour 45 minutes. In my mind, I figured 2 hours to be safe. Rob said they'd call when it was done. I walked a few blocks to the Starbucks down the street to do some work. By 3:15, I hadn't heard anything. I needed a vehicle to get to a 4pm appointment, so by 3:35, I headed back to Pep Boys. I could see the car in the same spot as I left it. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and thought maybe they did the alignment and just by chance, re-parked the car in the same spot. Wrong. When I asked to pick up the car at the counter, they asked if anybody called me to tell me it was done. No, but I was told it'd be about 2 hours and now - AFTER ALMOST 3 HOURS - THEY HADN'T EVEN TOUCHED IT. The guys at the counter didn't even seemed surprised, as if this was a common occurrence for them. Way to over-commit and under-deliver.
