A newcomer to the Kingsland Farmer's Market, the Orca Bay Fish Company is an exciting new addition to the local food scene. Filled with fresh sustainable fish of all sorts, the selection is excellent, the quality doubly so and I'm quite pleased with it's addition to the Market. On top of the fresh fish, they have shelves full of the regular accompanyments for your meal, from sauces to coatings and so on, all at pretty reasonable pricing. And for more unique fish that can't necessarily come fresh but flash frozen instead, there's several frozen freezers offering a decent selectrion of seafood ranging from shellfish to whole fish of all sorts. A little surprise is their offering of the "Odds and Cods" pack, which contains a melange of fish and cuts at a nice little discount. Definately something to look at when especially making maybe a bouillabaisse or a stew? As for me, a total pleasant surprise was their offerings of a 3lb pack of crawfish for around $20. Being a fan and once resident of the Big Easy, I soooo love this and it's incredibly hard to find in the city. None of the cajun restaurants and food trucks offer crawfish, and none of the ethnic supermarkets also, so having the chance to have a boil once in awhile is absolutely AWESOME. Add some of the excellent Andouille sausage from Jackson's Deli just around the corner in the Kingsland, and you have the makings of a simply wicked dinner! Welcome Orca Bay! You will see me more often, even if it's to complain that you're using foursquare instead of Yelp!
