FIRST, SOME HISTORY...
Mississauga, ON is a sister city to Kariya City, Japan and this park is a symbol of that relationship. (The love goes both ways! There's even a Mississauga Park in Kariya City!)
I remember being blown away by this park the first time I came across it. I couldn't believe that something so pretty and elegant could be so neatly tucked away just beyond the city centre. It's almost like stepping into a time warp sometimes.
I've visited Kariya Park many times throughout the years since then, (even had a photoshoot here once!) and I like to come by when I can just to sit and hang out for a little bit. It makes me feel like I'm inside a karaoke music video that I used to see a lot of when I was younger. It's pretty both in the winter and in the summer, and overall one of my favourite chill-spots in the city!
