I had high expectations for this place, but both the food and experience turned out to be subpar at best.
Upon entering the restaurant, reception booth was empty, and no one, including bartender, waiters, manager, acknowledged us. That should have been a warning sign. We stood there waiting, because that's what you normally do upon entering a restaurant. Another group came after us, and just sat down without asking if we were waiting. A man who was wearing dirty pants and shirt finally came towards us. We asked him if we were supposed be sitting ourselves, and he seemed annoyed and said he was getting us a table. He sat us down at a high table by the bar, without asking if we preferred a regular table.
We ordered the steambun, korean beef, gnocchi and scallops. Here is a breakdown for you.
Steam bun - please, if you can't make the "bun" part of the steam bun properly, better not to offer it at all.
Korean beef - beef was good, but again it's hard to mess up a couple slides of beef. Didn't care for the rice at all.
Gnocchi - the taste of salt overpowered everything else. I wondered if the cap fell off the salt bottle
Scallops - the ingredients just didn't go well together.
My overall impression of the restaurant is, they tried hard to implement a hip and trendy concept, but the execution of the menu items and the service did not line up with the concept.
