I feel weird saying it, but I honestly love Ed's. It's an easy and comfortable place to hang out, especially if you go during off-times. I love taking up a booth on a Saturday afternoon and people-watching. Plus, the nachos are some of the best I've had so far in Charlotte. Service is usually pretty good. If you're over 25, just avoid Ed's on Friday nights/big game days - unless you're looking for that kind of thing - and you'll be happy with your experience.
