I loved 43 North and will definitely return. Atmosphere: sophisticated and refreshingly clean, not "theme" heavy like a lot of places in Madison these days. Service: top notch. Course 1: Salmon tartar--just lovely, light and also satisfying. Fresh and delicious. My dinner mate wasn't crazy about the orange powder, but I liked it. Course 2: Beef Carpaccio--a little dry, but good flavor. I probably wouldn't order this particular course again, however. Course 3: Duck Confit Salad: Wow. Just wow. If you like cabbage and duck, this is the dish for you. Rich of the rich, calling it a "salad" is a bit of a stretch, this is no bed of greens. I had no idea red cabbage and duck went so well together! It was creative and delicious.
