SLAY!!
I was absolutely terrified to see a dentist. I had perfect teeth and zero cavities my whole life. Then.... cancer struck (AML LEUKEMIA) and my teeth suffered from the chemotherapy. Not to mention the constant nausea and throwing up that goes along with chemo, mouth sores, and dry mouth; all which wreak havoc on ones' oral health. In fact for a while my diagnosis was so grim I was given a short time to live. Then I entered into a trial for a new drug (Synribo) and...
Viola!! I'm in remission, back to work as a nurse, and have dental benefits once again.
Now for the dentist...
Dr. Heitke and his team quickly put my fears to rest with kindness and reassurance. I was able to ask all the questions I needed to in order to feel complete trust in the team and a plan was laid into place to bring my mouth and teeth back to health like the rest of my body.
Dr Heitke has been practicing in Madison for over 30 years!! The practice is concerned about being environmentally responsible and leaving a small carbon footprint at their business. You can read more about that in their webpage at www.heitke-vu.com. They have a bike rack installed right in front of their office which is important to me as I commute via bicycle everywhere and have no car.
The receptionist Jill is incredibly polite, knowledgeable and worked extremely hard to schedule some tricky appointments for me not just once but TWICE due to financial burdens.
The office is bright, clean, and makes one feel very comfortable. They even have free lip balm in a bowl in their waiting room; remember how dry your lips feel after seeing the dentist? Lots of thought goes into this office to ensure you'll feel your best when arriving and on your way out.
They sent text messages reminding me of my upcoming appointments too.
I left my appointment today once again feeling great with a clean, white smile and minimal discomfort.
Thank you Dr Heitke and all your staff!! You slay!
