My deep freeze stopped freezing. Obviously a timely repair was of high priority in order to save the contents before they thawed. I called at 3:00pm on a Friday evening. They arrived at 6:30pm (within the service window I was originally quoted of 5 to 7) and had the problem diagnosed and repaired within 40 minutes. Additionally, the issue - a failed start & overload relay - had caused the compressor to get hot. Using a cool water soaked rag, he cooled it down. And he also stuck around long enough to ensure that the compressor was not damaged and was working properly with the new relay. Within an hour, our freezer was back at the proper temperature freezing our food. I have no idea what a "good" price is for a Start & Overload Relay for a Frigidaire deep freeze. I may have got it at cost, I may have been charged a 30% markup so, you know, they can make some money - it doesn't matter. The amount I paid for the repair was: 1. About 1/3rd the price of a comparable replacement freezer 2. About half the cost of replacing all the food in the freezer 3. All inclusive. By getting the repair, the service call fee was waived. When he left, I had a working freezer before the food thawed. I couldn't ask for anything more.
