A great neighborhood spot. They did a very nice job designing the space, emphasizing a fun hipster vibe. Also has a small outdoor patio where dogs are welcome. Good happy hour specials. I'm not much of a drinker, so I can't speak to the quality of their martinis, but you can see the effort that went into their drink menu.
I did have a bit of a problem with my food order. A hamburger, ordered medium as was encouraged by the waitress, was actually raw in the middle. It received some extra grill time and was returned to the table with the comment, "next time I'll remind you to order medium well." It was raw in the center! No great apology was needed, but it was the kitchen's error, not the diner's. The rest of our food was quite good.
Still four stars you say, even after being served a raw burger? Yes, a reflection of how much I liked the ambiance of Kitchen 56.
