Monday was New Year's Day Observed, and Laundry Day. So on Monday, of course, our old washing machine breaks down and dies. Drive to B&B Appliances. Every other place is open, but B&B is closed. Off to Home Depot. They have The Machine Of Our Dreams ($479 on sale) but it's out of stock and they can only deliver after Feb 5. More than a month away. No good; we need clothes. Online, we visit Sears -- they offer three-day delivery, but their price is $532. Okay, then, try Lowe's. Their website doesn't allow price comparisons, so we call -- $479 is their price too, but they can't deliver for another week. So first thing Tuesday we call Spencer's. Yes, they have The Machine Of Our Dreams. Yes, it's in stock. Their price? $420!! Delivery? TOMORROW MORNING!! Pay dirt. Done deal. They show up sharp at 9:30 am, install the machine in less than half an hour, and haul the old one away. Laundry gets done. We have clean sheets and clothes, *less than 48 hours* after the old washer died. And at a $59 saving over Lowe's and Home Depot's SALE price !! We've bought large appliances from Spencer's before, and they were great then too. I cannot recommend hem highly enough.
