First, let me say I and my wife have celebrated our anniversary at the TOW for 18 consecutive years. On 4 October we once again made reservations for 5:30 PM so we could enjoy the sunset and Las Vegas Lights. We arrived 20 minutes early, checked in and went to the lounge. We were called and were shown to our table, by the window, as requested. When the waiter arrived he began speaking very fast and in broken English that neither of us could understand. The only understandable word was "soup". I asked the maître de if we could have another waiter. After a few minutes he returned and told us there were no tables available for at least another half hour and he indicated we could wait in the lounge. On the way to the lounge we noticed many tables were vacant. When we asked about them the maître de replied: "We don't have any waiters for those areas yet." I and my wife were both flabbergasted by this strange occurrence of events and expressed our feelings. By now, both of us were discouraged and we decided to leave. It is very unfortunate that a good waiter will suffer since we normally tip between 25-40%, depending on the service. We were staying in our Motor Home at Sam's Town and we decided to return there and try the restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food and the service was excellent. I am sure we will miss dining at the TOW but we can afford better service.
