I used to live down the street so I remember waiting for months for this place to open and when I finally did stop by, I was a bit disappointed. I remember being overwhelmed by how expensive this place was for basically a rice bowl. Yeah you get a miso soup and a salad, big woop. I had ordered the Hire Katsu dinner which was slightly undercooked. My friend ordered the Katsu curry, which is a joke, because they use the same curry base from the box you get for $1.50 at 99 ranch market. So to be charged $11 for something i can make by heating up in the microwave at home bugs me. I also remember wasting a lot of time and effort grinding the sesame seeds to not even use it in the end. So I tried to give it another try a couple years later, and am still not impressed. Not sure if the prices have been the same or got even more expensive. My friend and I ordered the chicken and the Katsu donburi. This time a little overcooked but nothing to be upset about. I definitely don't plan on coming back, especially if the prices continue to be that steep.
