I'm a big fan of Montreal Bagels so I was happy to "discover" this store close to home when I was wandering through Kensington Market. I have not tried the coffee and other fare but the bagels - which I have bought by the dozen for home - are perfect. So why 2 stars when the bagels get 5? Well on my fourth visit this morning, I was served by the same female who has attended my each time, and I'll give her this much, she is consistent. I don't know whether she hates her job or she took an instant dislike to me the first time I walked in but she is curt, unfriendly, terse, gives no salutation AND she doesn't know what a baker's dozen is. She obviously has no stake in the business other than to get a pay check every month. Here's a suggestion: maybe there could be one person who deals with drinks and plain bagels to take home, It's not fun standing behind 5 people who don't know what they want when all I want is a quick grab and go.
