Birthing at home, even a rental, can be intimate, quiet, fast, and enjoyable. Especially with attentive, loving midwives. Sarah Butterfly attended the births of both of my babies, primary midwife for my youngest. She worked hard at comprehending my transgender identity in a birthing and nursing body, my complicated relationships with family, and how all that affected my pregnancy and birth experiences (which were fast and beautiful, by the way). She whole heartedly trusted my connection to my body, never ever acted like she knew more about me than I do, never made assumptions about the kind of care I wanted, always provided me with as much information as possible AND the attention necessary to support me in those choices. She also showered my incredibly active and curious 2 year old with attention and gave me a shoulder to cry on many times while displaying healthy emotional boundaries. If you are pregnant and thinking about where and how to birth your baby/s, give A Midwife's Kaleidoscope a ring for a free consultation. Because you deserve kind, gentle and informed healthcare in pregnancy and beyond.
