Okay, so I haven't written a lot of reviews, but this hospital really gets a bad rap, so I wanted to document my personal experience.
I was a little concerned at first, seeing the ratings and having passed by the hospital before I'd had any issues, but I recently was diagnosed with gallstones and just had my gallbladder taken out yesterday afternoon. It was a scheduled surgery there, and not an emergency, so maybe that's where some of the reviews differ? Either way, while it's not the most state-of-the-art and it's a little small and basic, I had a very positive experience.
Anyways, I was treated with nothing but the utmost sweetness, dignity, and helpfulness from everyone from the admittance office, to the outpatient nurses, to the anesthesiologist. At no time was I made to feel uncomfortable or unwelcome or ignored, and everyone tried their best to let me know what to expect once I woke up from surgery, and made sure I had everything I need, from pain meds to helping tie my gown, to calming me before the anesthesia kicked in, and making sure I had ice chips and juice when I woke up and was lucid enough to try getting some fluids in me.
I'd like to thank all those whose names I got down, and the lady whose name I didn't catch at the admittance station: Daphnie, Guadalupe, Kellie, Patricia, Montserrat, Barbara (you thought I wasn't lucid enough after waking up, but if you're reading this, I do remember your name :) ), Dr. Logan, and Lynda, as well as my surgeon Dr. Ahmed, but that is for another review because he is from a different office. I hope I didn't miss anyone.
Anyways, it was a very pleasant visit despite the cramping I've been having, which is normal for the procedure.
Thank you to the folks at North Vista for being such a compassionate and caring team. God forbid I need any other surgeries, but I would definitely feel comfortable in their hands again.
