We needed to plan for a 7 year old birthday party and having just moved to the neighborhood, were walking around to find a place to get a cake. We stumbled on La Conca D'oro fairly randomly - it's a small, unassuming spot - but were certainly glad we did. The staff were very friendly, welcomed us to the neighborhood and quickly took our order: two large rectangular pizzas - one tomato, one spinach and cheese as well as an all-vanilla moist cake for our 7 year old. Pickup on Saturday morning was not a problem. On our way out, we shared an absolutely scrumptious cannoli - perfect blend of creaminess and sweetness and obviously freshly baked. On Saturday, we went back and expected to get some run-of-the-mill bday cake and pizzas and were pleasantly surprised by 1. the attention to detail on the cake and 2. the freshness of the ingredients. I'd never had a cake this moist - with delicious filling that was well short of the sickening sweetness you can otherwise come across in store-bought fare. The rectangular pizzas were moist, not too oily and very tasty. Everyone at the party was very happy and we've gone back a few times since for the cannolis!
