I am highly recommending a different place to you based on my experience and the headaches that I had to go through. Let me start by saying that I have been a Platinum Marriott Rewards member for a few years and I always choose Marriott, when possible.
I was going up to Cleveland to see a baseball game and booked the Courtyard through the Marriott website. This is my normal routine and normally never have to worry about anything. After a day of eating, drinking and gambling at the nearby casino, it was time to call it a night. It was a long day of traveling and entertainment. We walked into the hotel ready for bed and to my surprise, I was already checked-in! I asked how this could be when I am standing in front of the desk for the first time in my life, and that question began a 30 minute fire alarm for the people to figure out 1) Who is in my room 2) Where they could put me in a full hotel and 3) Who am I.
This didn't make me a fan and I was quite upset with the whole issue. It turns out that there were 2 people with the same name staying at the hotel that night, however they gave the other person my upgraded room and put their bill onto my account. Even if we have the same name, they should've checked ID or the credit card matching the reservation, but nope, I had to deal with the mess when all I wanted to do was go to bed.
I thought I was going to end up with a free night because all of this, but instead, all I got was a headache and the other guys points for staying the night on my account. I made sure to watch all my charges for the next week, but still what a pain. Even the phone calls after the stay from me and to me was such a waste of time and stressful. I will never stay there again when I am in Cleveland and I can't raise my rating to higher than a one.
