Nielsen's moved across Eastern Ave a few months ago (the fact that I haven't been able to re-review it until now shows how good I've been about my new diet) and is now in the physical storefront previously occupied by a Red Mango. Given I rated the old Nielsen's 4* and the Red Mango 1*, I'm going to consider this a serious upgrade for the storefront. The "new" Nielsen's maintains most of the same old-school décor so all in all, the new place feels a lot like the old one. I think some of the decorative pieces might be missing due to layout constraints, and to be honest, it doesn't feel quite as cozy - possibly because the new place is a corner store so has windows all along one side. One big plus though is that parking appears to be a lot more plentiful than at the old location. And what really matters at a place like this is the food, and that hasn't changed a bit. So I'll reiterate most of my old review: It's still the same, super-creamy, super-smooth frozen custard that makes it my favorite in Vegas. The concretes (think of it as a well-blended Blizzard) are still to die for. And the service is still old-school friendly. If only they'd offer more flavors on a daily basis, this would be one of the easiest 5* I've ever given.
