We went to Ematei for dinner on saturday, it was an okay experience. I think the restaurant has been overrated from the other yelp users. But then my standard for Japanese restaurant is usually pretty high and maybe it is not fair to Ematei because I just have an amazing meal at Inakaya just the day before. I thought the two were being compared from some of the reviews here, but now I can conclude Inakaya is definitely a much more authentic japanese restaurant then Inakaya. You can get a much better deal at Inakaya, for example for the same $25 sushi combo, the selection of fish that I got from ematei are just mediocre stuff, nothing come out screaming. However for the same price, you can get toro, unagi and really fresh hamachi from Inakaya. Overall Ematei is just ok, I gave it a 2.5 due to the soso service that i have received.
