Introducing a brand new west side ramen house are the creators of Monta Ramen. Monta being the last review I wrote I was a bit excited, sort of, to see if this would be any different. To my satisfaction it truly was a delightful experience.
It's in a plaza off of Durango not very far from the brand new Ikea store that was built. True to form , it was busy with people waiting, and a list for you to put your name on, but that's pretty standard in every Ramen House; at least any worth dining at.
An Original side note from anywhere else; they are also a noodle-making factory. As you wait in the front when you sign in, you can look through the glass and watch the gentleman/his machine and lots of fresh noodles.
The restaurant was very clean, with everything open on display, so you'd be able to tell exactly how organized and clean they really are. Even the bathrooms, that's right, it gets five stars across the board.
As always I ordered a medium Spicy Miso Ramen with nothing extra so I could give you a review on exactly how it tasted as it came. All I can tell you in one word is DELICIOUS!!!! I enjoyed the broth much more than I did before and the fusion of flavors was very palatable.
Just like Monta I love their Kimchi Fried Rice , but it was much milder than I expected.
My boyfriend and I shared the pork bowl which is always a favorite for us. Kobo's pork belly was lighter is color, just like if you were to prepare it at home. Where as what I'm used to, it is darker brown like a barbecue type pork, regardless it was very very good.
Ramen Kobo is definitely not bland in flavor, as all of their spices mesh into a delightful symphony in your mouth. Begging you to sing another song. It's a very Quaint restaurant, though I've never been to a large one. Size didn't take away from their character, as all of their friendly staff, made it so pleasant to dine there. I truly enjoyed the food and they experience and I would definitely rate it higher than Monta Ramen.
I vote five stars for Ramen Kobo and thank them for such a wonderful dining experience. It's my pleasure to recommend Kobo's to anyone on the west side and even if you're not, you won't be disappointed....
