I went here in Nov 2013 with a group of 5-10 year olds and was taken on a 2 hour tour. The costumed staff presented interactive pioneer history at their level and had them make, bake, & eat corn bread from a dutch oven in a fireplace in a small log cabin. They went into a one room school and solved problems with their slates, toured an herb garden, gathered eggs, and heard accurate stories of how pioneer people ate, slept, built cabins, made clothing, grew & cooked food and used materials found in their environment to make their living more comfortable in an area without stores. The knowledgeable, dedicated staff change the program to meet the age group. This is a popular tour for school groups and was a very valuable learning experience that really held the children's attention. I do have a suggestion for a name change. When I heard that it was called Depreciation Museum, I really didn't want to go see it. A more appropriate descriptive name would be Frontier or Pioneer Village.
