I have always loved the Toronto Public Libraries. I grew up going to the Fairview Mall library (which, at the time would have kids perfomers and a neat play area, no idea if they're still there). I remember the excitement of a book mobile coming to our elementary school/neighbourhood (still excites me - an entire library coming to me???!!). The library asks nothing from you but to be respectful of others and of their materials. I can take these home to read/watch/listen to - FOR FREE! There are super helpful (and always friendly) librarians who are excellent resources and fonts of information. I can get free passes to museums and galleries from here. I can go watch free movies and see free perfomances. I use it to sign out books on my kobo. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the library. You should too. This particular branch is the closest one to me. You get your mix of parents with their little ones, folks from the area and homeless people - like real life. I love this location because of the experience I have there. I always walk away feeling like I'm so lucky to have this library (and its staff!) near me.
