I called 4 Aveda salon's before I decided to go to this location. I verified all 4 times the cost of touch up on the roots and blow dry. All 4 said $75.00 or $85.00 for a "master" hairdresser. My mother lives on social security and $65.00 is all she had paid in all the Sola salons and elsewhere in the past years. We arrived and the salon was empty. My mother thought that was odd, and then "Mena" came to us and started to color my mother's hair. My mother and I were asking Mena where she was from, and other social questions, when I noticed Mena sat her kitchen time clock and she left us alone. Exactly 45 minutes later Mena shows back up and washes my mother's hair. I was surprised that during the 45 minutes we had sat in the empty salon, Mena should have come by to see if we needed anything, but she just disappeared. Mena washed and blew dry my mothers hair to a "classic page boy style" We walked to the desk to pay the bill and we were handed a bill for $140.00 ! ! I asked the man at the check out desk, why when $85.00 was the going rate for a "Master' Hairdresser they were charging us almost double the price quoted??? and his only answer was "Mena is a master hairdresser!" I told him I had called the other Aveda salon's and $85.00 was the top fee. Mena did nothing different than any other salon I have taken my mother to in Las Vegas! (normally it's been $65.00) for excellent hairdressers all over Las Vegas. Her hair did look good upon departing the salon, but her hair always looks good when she has completed her hair blow dry. I was so shocked at the price, I actually tipped on top of that, and when I got home and until this day I am still fuming at their audacity! I called back to speak to the owner several weeks later and it turns out Ms. Mena is one of the owners! DO NOT go to this salon, there are many other Aveda salons that will charge you the correct price. ..It's obvious to me now why the salon was empty. To many patrons have been ripped off !!!!!!
