Just like the previous reviewer, I've driven by this place hundreds of times, and always asked myself the same question, "What the hell goes on in there??" Earlier this week, I finally got the courage to give Chicken King a try. Upon walking in, i was struck by how small it was. From the outside, it looks much bigger than it is. I'm not gonna lie, the place feels a little grimy as well, but DON'T Let that detour you.. ...I decided to go with the BBQ sandwich w/slaw. Something pretty standard, that any legit southern joint should be able to do right. After about a 4-5min wait, my sandwich came to me dripping with class as it was brought to me wrapped in foil and in a brown paper bag. Upon arriving back at my house a minutes away (there is no where to sit inside Chicken King - must take to go), I dramatically unwrapped the sandwich from the foil and discovered a taste that was, well... nothing but first class. It had a nice smokey flavor and was well sauced. The slaw was cold and crunchy and complimented the sandwich perfectly, It was also well-priced at less than $5. I would def recommend at least giving Chicken King a shot...I'm not making any promises, but I think you may be pleasantly surprised...
