Came to see an 04 Toyota 4Runner today, it was like a body shop/ dealer (dirty place). I asked if the 4Runner was repaired, sales man told me it was a trade and had a clean title. I'm pretty car savvy and I'm afraid he thought I was clueless. The first thing I asked was has it been worked on (body work) before because it had compound from body work. He said no, we cleaned the headlights.. that's why that's there. Ok, so I see a little damage that was painted over on the left fender flare. I don't say much about that but I take it ona test drive, it drove well. No noises. When we get back I ask to pop the hood. He pops the hood, total Mickey Mouse mess, crappy welds holding the impact bar to the frame, welds holding the swaybar links. I asked him if he knew that was there he said yes that's how we got it, really? You're going to accept a vehicle that's thrown together and not safe to drive at all?? The reinforcement bar was all banged out like they tried to straighten it out with a hammer, aftermarket headlight where the damage was. He told me about 4 times that it was a clean NV title. Straight BS. If you want to be screwed with hidden damages and dirty titles buy a car here.
