The initial job we did with Alex went relatively well, he did a good job on our stairs so we decided to continue working with him which was a huge mistake. We asked him to do a kitchen job for us that involved cutting down our pony wall, rounding it out, staining it. His stain guy is awesome he wanted to ensure he did not leave until the work quality was done but Alex is a far cry from reasonable when it comes to quality assurance. I have heard everything from his truck broke down, to his wife is sick, when ironically when I asked his worker how his truck was he looked surprised and said "That thing is always good" so apparently I was lied too. I explained to Alex when we met I am a disabled vet with PTSD and its hard for me to find good labor that I can trust, but I am now livid, we pre-payed in advance because I did this before and had no issue. Alex charged me for items I did not receive, he charged me for work he did not do, and although the island came out relatively decent the counter-top work I paid him to do is horrendous, it looks like a teenager tried to do it himself. I have never seen such horrible looking counter-tops, I am not even sure he is licensed to do counter tops. I have personally asked Alex through a series of emails to just refund me 1100 dollars which is less then what I actually paid him for the tops alone, this is a 4500 dollar job that looks like I paid 600 to a street kid. At this point I have no faith in him getting this right and I just want my 1100 bucks and I will spend the extra money from now on on a larger company for peace of mind. It feels like a kick in the balls that this guy cant admit hes in over his head, screwed up my counter-tops, he needs to make this right.
