I was able to visit this venue while I was home for the holidays. The paint smell was still fresh as this once Irish pub got a slightly Gothic makeover. Luckily there were no patrons with excessive eyeliner and too pale makeup anywhere.
I was there with friends one evening. They have a fireplace blaring in the main area. Which is great for me as I am cold most of the time. However, my other friends liked it better in the other room without the fireplace. They still had to shed a few layers of clothing.
The first room has a standard bar area and high bar tables on the other side. The other room has many leather couches and benches to sit on. Also, there is a pool table. There could be a bit more space for the pool table, but I still managed to get my game on.
There is a good selection of beers both in bottles and on tap. They do have beer specials for happy hour as well. They also seem happy to please. My friend asked for a small (half bottle) of sparkling wine. They did not have it, but it was added to their list. Perhaps they will have it next time.
This is a different kind of gay bar.... No rainbows everywhere. Also they seemed welcoming to all walks of life. Even the straight people seemed "secure" there. I would definitely go again when I want a chill evening with friends, or as a place to get drinks before a night of clubbing
