I read about Chimney Stax's Vaughan Mills location on Joe Mimran's twitter (creator of Club Monaco and Joe Fresh). I'm not sure if Chimney Stax was one of his Dragon's Den investments, but I was curious to try it out. They have a small kiosk in the mall, near Tommy Hilfiger if I remember correctly. I decided to go for the Cookie Monster stax as it looked really good in the picture. The shop associate was really friendly and prepared the Stax for me right away. It looks quite picturesque, but I was in a rush and didn't really get an amazing photo. The soft serve was great, very creamy and delicious. The cone however tasted a bit stale to me. At the price point of $10-12, I was expecting a very freshly made cone, but unfortunately I didn't get that. The blue chocolate on the cone was also quite hard and it made eating the cone part a bit difficult. It's similar to Eva's chimney cones, but they tasted very fresh all the time. It's still a solid treat if you want some ice cream with dough-y goodness, but maybe the trick is waiting for a fresher cone.
