I scheduled A-Comfort to come and do the usual fall lubrication and cleaning. When the technician arrived, he saw I had purchased my furnace filter from someplace else (and not through A-Comfort), so he immediately had a negative attitude saying, "I suppose you want me to put this in your furnace?" Next, the technician told us we needed a new heat exchanger and ignitor. He told us it was under warranty and that they could fix it, and all we would have to pay is $1,207 for "paperwork." When we told him we would have to think about it and we weren't prepared to make a decision that day, he decided to write a statement on the very large sticker on our furnace indicating what it needed! When the technician left, my husband opened the panel to the furnace and it was STILL COMPLETELY COVERED WITH DUST! The furnace was never cleaned, and we paid $105 for the fall lube and CLEANING. We decided to get 2 other opinions from qualified furnace companies. THEY BOTH DISAGREED with the findings and recommendations stated by the A-Comfort technician. Additionally, both companies called the manufacturer of our furnace and learned that the parts were NOT under warranty! The new quotes for work needed cost around $200!! So our furnace is repaired, runs great, and we saved ourselves $1,000. Our recommendation is that you save yourself some money and do NOT use A-Comfort Service!
