I don't understand how this place has bad reviews. I came in to buy a sewing machine setup as a present for my fiance. I know nothing about them. They were really busy and I waited without help for a while, but once a salesperson freed up he was happy to help me. He was super knowledgeable and friendly but didn't seem too passionate about sewing. I told him I wanted to get absolutely everything my fiance would need to start sewing and make sure I didn't leave out anything important. He politely handed me off to a different salesperson, this time it was a lady named Lynn. Presumably because she actually sews in her free time and he was just trained on the products. She was incredibly helpful. As a young adult I usually avoid small businesses since the older hobbyists who run them typically ignore or talk down to young people. I thought it would be worse here because I am a man on top of it (buying from a store who's customers are almost exclusively women). This wasn't a problem at all. She knew I was out of my element, so when she was explaining stuff to me she kept comparing them to car parts and maintenance. It wasn't necessary because I was following fine, but it was funny and still a nice gesture. Anyway she walked around the store with me for 40 minutes helping pick out absolutely everything I needed to surprise my fiance with. She took the time to explain what everything was and why I needed to buy it, and she helped me find the best deals... even when it meant buying a cheaper product. I would have probably believed anything she said, so I appreciate her honesty. On top of it all I got a very good deal on the sewing machine (cheaper than it was on amazon), and all the accessories were basically on sale for 25% off so I saved a good amount of money. Also because I bought the machine there my fiance gets to attend a 2 hour class to learn to use it and she gets 20% off her accessories and threads for life. Even if I did spend more money on the machine than it cost online (like I expected to) these extra perks would have made it worthwhile. Great people, strongly recommend.
