You actually enter the restaurant through unmarked doors. The only clue that you are entering the right place are a couple of menus posted on the wall next to the door. Although this place is extremely small and hidden, it's conveniently located on Bethany home Road and 16th St. - Dicks hideaway offers an authentic New Mexican dining experience. Last night was a business function for 23 guests. I was amazed they all found their way to this restaurant. Immediately upon opening the front door, there was another secret door to the right. That was our private room. Nicely decorated with copper table tops and old wine bottles as decoration, our room was small but extremely comfortable. We even had our own private lavatory. We ordered up some appetizers and the staff served the group beer, wine and cocktails to get this function going.Foodies in the group appreciated the fresh bold flavors of New Mexican appetizers. The main course platters were huge. I had the pork chop stuffed with chorizo sausage. It was served on a bed of assorted vegetables. Even for the large group, there were numerous choices of sumptuous entrées on the menu. The staff and our server get a 10 out of 10 rating. Outstanding! The woman that served us knew our names and our drinks and she made the group feel like we were her personal friends - or even better yet, guests in her home. For attentive service in an intimate setting with high quality New Mexican cuisine, this is a wonderful secret spot for a unique group dinner event - a total hit! Salute!
